Today, 9th February 2013, Saturday, was a beautiful day...
Skies were blue... cloudless... windless... so cool and pleasant...
Yes, the white plums are beginning to bloom...
And this one is dedicated to Autumn Belle...
These 'Sen-ryo' (Sarcandra glabra) are not from my garden...
Got them as leftovers from an Ikebana class...
Yes, this freshly picked 'sudachi' (Citrus sudachi) is from our garden...
We normally use them green, in our cooking...
This chrysanthemum is also part of the leftovers from the Ikebana class...
And my suweeto haato picked this Narcissus up from the hills in one of her walks recently...
Ooh, its fragrance.... so sweet...
Happy Lunar New Year to those of you who celebrate the event...
Your photos make me impatient for spring here in the Midwest--beautiful pictures... I have no fragrance in my yard, just snow, ice, water, puddles and mud! I know it will be here soon...so for now I will enjoy your beautiful photos. Do you have spring now? We are in zone 5 USA Midwest and our last frost date is in April ( but sometimes later)...I hope my little dwarf plum and cherry tree are blooming like your white plum...I can hardly wait! Roberta
ReplyDeleteThank you Robbie... wooh, I can imagine the situation at your place now... we are supposed to be having spring now but it is still a bit cold to start the planting... good luck with your plum and cherry blooms...
DeleteHappy Chinese New Year.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind wishes... and likewise to you too...

DeleteHappy New Year to you Lrong, hope you are celebrating in a grand affair in Japan..:)
ReplyDeleteHi Jeannie... trust that you are enjoying the festivities with your family... :-)
DeleteYou are practicing a good tradition of observing CNY in Japan. I understand that they celebrate 1st Jan in a big way rather than CNY. I love your images; they give a different perspective to the plants that we have over here. Wishing you "Wan Shi Ru Yi" (may all your wishes be fulfilled).
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the Japanese celebrating 1st January as their NY... thank you for your kind comments about my images... and may the Year of the Snake brings you and your family much health and prosperity...
DeleteWhat a wonderfully fragrant post — Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice words... :-)
DeleteHappy Chinese New Year Lrong!
